Top-Flight Tumbling

Classes For All Ages & Skill Levels

Our tumbling program at Top-Flight Athletics offers athletes of all ages and experience levels the opportunity to grow their skills step by step. From learning the basics to mastering advanced skills, each class is designed to build strength, coordination, and proper technique in a supportive environment. We follow our in house tumbling curriculum, the Tumble Academy, which progresses athletes through clearly defined levels. Each level focuses on mastering five to seven specific skills and is represented by a color.  Along the way, athletes build confidence, discipline, and a strong foundation for continued growth.

Recreational Tumbling Class Options

LEVEL 1

Level 1 focuses on building a strong foundation through body control, core strength, and basic shapes. Athletes work on skills such as forward rolls, handstands, and bridges while learning how to move safely and confidently in the gym. This level is ideal for new athletes learning the fundamentals in a supportive environment.

LEVEL 2

Level 2 builds on foundational skills with an increased focus on coordination and controlled movement. Athletes work on cartwheels and continue developing the strength needed for more advanced skills. Core fundamentals are reinforced to ensure athletes feel confident and supported as they progress.

LEVEL 3

Level 3 serves as the transition between basic shapes and more powerful tumbling skills. Athletes are introduced to round offs and the shrug and snap technique while developing shoulder strength and leg drive. This level prepares athletes for more dynamic movement.

LEVEL 4

In Level 4, athletes begin front and back walkovers while continuing to strengthen their foundation. Instruction focuses on body control, shoulder position, and smooth transitions between skills to build consistency and confidence.

LEVEL 5

Level 5 emphasizes control and connection of skills. Athletes begin linking multiple skills together to form tumbling passes, learning how to balance power with clean, controlled movement across the floor.

LEVEL 6

Level 6 introduces standing and running back handsprings. Coaches focus heavily on technique, drills, and proper spotting to help athletes safely develop strength, timing, and confidence with these milestone skills.

LEVEL 7

Level 7 focuses on mastering back handspring skills and connected passes. Athletes work on standing series and running combinations while refining technique and consistency. Athletes at this level often take on leadership roles in the gym and model strong work ethic and focus.

TUCKS

This class focuses specifically on developing and refining the back tuck. Athletes work on height, rotation, and air awareness through targeted drills and progressions. Whether an athlete is moving up from handsprings or polishing an existing tuck, the emphasis remains on strong technique and confident execution.

ADVANCED

Our Advanced class is designed for experienced athletes working on higher-level skills such as layouts and fulls. Training focuses on power, control, and precision in a focused, high-energy environment. This class is best suited for athletes seeking consistent challenge and continued growth alongside similarly skilled peers.
